Mon premier album solo, Stat Live Moniteur, a été publié il y a près de 30 ans, sur vinyl, sur le label ReR de Chris Cutler. À l’époque, je ne suivais pas un concept fort ou une méthode particulière : je tentais simplement de créer un paysage sonore qui pourrait ressembler à ce que j’entends quand j’écoute le monde. Récemment, j’ai senti le bsoin de retourner à cette approche simple. Cette paire de nouveaux albums, L’Ile Noire et L’Ile Rouge sont donc une sorte de peinture paysagiste audible du chaos qui bouille dans mon cerveau quand je regarde autour de moi.
My first solo release was published about 30 years ago. Titled Stat Live Moniteur , it was a vinyl lp on Chris Cutler’s ReR label. At the time, I was not following any strong concept but mainly trying to create a sound landscape that would ressemble, somehow, the way I hear the world when I listen to it. Lately I felt the need to come back to this simple approach. So this new pair of works, L’Ile Noire & L’Ile Rouge, end up being, for better or for worse, a sort of sound painting of the chaos that bubbles in my brain whenever I look around.
