The State of the Union

Sound and video installation. On one side of a shelf one finds a sofa, a little bedside table with a video projector and a special made projection screen. The projection consists of pictures from the World War seen in reverse motion, as proposed by Vonnegut jr in his book Slaughterhouse 5. The screen includes photosensors that translate the light and dark parts of the video into electric signals, triggering 108 electric relays hung on the other side of the shelf. Shown at Stanford Art Gallery, 2003, and Galerie de l’UQAM, 2005.
